Troubleshooting
I’m not getting any sound
Please check that the FM function is not turned on, on the main screen press the FM icon and make sure “Use FM” is NOT ticked. If that is ticked then no sound will come through the speaker, instead it is transmitted to your car radio using the frequency set on that screen.
My Truck Nav won’t charge or power on
Please check with both the car/truck charger and the mains charger, you should see a red light on the top left side of the sat nav when the charger is connected which turns blue when it is fully charged. If you do not see the red light please contact us letting us know which charger is not working.
I get a message saying “Please set Navigation path” when switching on or opening the navigation application
Either the MicroSD card isn’t properly inserted in the side of the sat nav or you have reset it to the factory defaults. Firstly make sure the card is properly inserted and if the message persists please follow the instructions here to set the navigation path again.
I get a “fatal error occurred” message when switching on or opening the navigation application
Switch the sat nav off and remove the MicroSD card from the side, make sure the gold contacts are clean and reinsert it and power on and try again. If the message persists please contact us.
The sat nav is freezing or locking up
Switch the sat nav off and remove the MicroSD card from the side, make sure the gold contacts are clean and reinsert it and power on and try again. If the problem persists please try pressing the reset button recessed in the hole on the rear, this should be done with the unit turned on, press and hold the button until it turns off and back on again.
I’m not getting a GPS signal
1. Make sure you have tried it outside or in a vehicle. We’ve noticed over the years that sometimes customers will test a new device indoors, as the sat nav needs to get signals from multiple satellites which can be quite weak it is unlikely to work indoors.
2. If the device is brand new or hasn’t been used for over 6 months then make sure it has been switched on outside or in a vehicle for at least 15 minutes. For technical reasons a GPS device can take up to 12.5 minutes if it hasn’t been used before or in the last 180 days. This is called the Cold or Factory Time To First Fix as described in this Wikipedia article.
